The objective of this study was to identify the occurrence of post-cesarean surgical site infection in a maternity hospital. This is a cross-sectional retrospective study with a quantitative approach developed in a reference public maternity in obstetrics located in the Northeast Region of Brazil. The sample consisted of 53 medical records of women with post-cesarean surgical site infection from 2010 to 2013, and the data collection instrument was a structured form.
