Abstract
GUTIERREZ SOTELO, Oswaldo; CRUZ CRUZ, Flory and ARAYA GOMEZ, Vivien. Taquicardia ventricular en corazón estructuralmente normal: características clínicas y electocardiográficas. Rev. costarric. cardiol [online]. 2002, vol.4, n.2, pp.7-14. ISSN 1409-4142.
lntroduction: There is a subgroup of patients with ventricular tachycardia (VT) without overt cardiac illness, inciuding right ventricle outflow tract ventricular tachycardia, the so called "adenosine-sensitive" and idiopathic left ventricle ventricular tachycardia or "verapamil-sensitive" Methods: We included patients with monomorphic VT without evidence of cardiac disease. In twelve lead eledrocardiograms during tachycardia we analized tachycardia morphology, tachycardia cicle length, QRS complex duration, transition zone, if the tachycardia is sustained or not, related symptoms and therapy. Results: We included 16 patients with mean age of 36 years old and mean follow-up of 27.6 months. Twelve had right ventricle outflow trad VT and four idiopathic left ventricle VT. The mean cicle length was 391.25 + 80.57 ms, mean heart rate 160 + 32 beats per minute and the mean QRS duration 132 ms. The mayority of patients with right ventricle outflow trad VT had only non-sustained VT while in idiopathic left ventricle VT, 3 of 4 patients had sustained VT. Conclusion: VT without estructural cardiac disease affects young people, usually is self-limited, beíng the most frequent right ventricle outflow trad VT.
