Analysis of 31 case reports of Dengue in children managed in the Dengue Unit at Puntarenas' Hospital from september to november of 1997. Predominance in patients older than six years and residents of high vector presence regions. Fever, rash and myalgia are the most common symptoms. Armcuff technique reported positive in 27 patients. Analysis of white blood count and platelets evolution during the febrile period and possible inmunologial and viral mediated mechanisms in Classical and Hemorragic Dengue, as well as the effectiveness of agressive cristaloyd fluids therapy are discussed.
