INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Scope and policy

Articles postulated for possible publication should be scientific publications. The articles must be original, unpublished and should not be postulated for publication simultaneously in other magazines or editorial bodies. When an article is received, the journal's Management evaluates it preliminarily to ensure that it complies with the format and content requirements. Once that first filter is completed, it will be sent to two external academic peers to dtecde anonymously (double-blind) if it should be published, if it needs changes or if it is rejected. In case of discrepancies between the reviewers, the editorial committee dtecdes. Opinions are final. The process can take up to twelve weeks.

Form and preparation of manuscripts

The articles can be submitted using the platform on the magazine's website or can be sent in digital form to the address revistaae@tec.ac.cr with a copy to jleiva@tec.ac.cr.

The editorial review can take up to twelve weeks and the acceptance or rejection of the article will be communicated to the interested party by means of electronic mail. The journal submits any postulated article for possible publication to an evaluation by academic external opinion makers under a principle of academic parity and with a double-blind peer review system (see editorial policy section).

Format of articles


generalities


MS Word, language: Spanish or English.
Maximum extension: 7000 words, all inclusive.
Title of the article in uppercase, bold and centered.
Name (s) of the author (s) below the title, in bold and aligned to the left. Indicate author's email address.
Bold and left-aligned captions.
Images in .jpg format, in separate files.
Bibliographic references: current APA format (accessible at http://www.apastyle.org/, an example of use is included on the back cover of this issue).

Author's presentation: a section should be included indicating the full name (s), place and place of work, highest academic degree obtained and e-mail address.

Summary and keywords: abstract no more than 200 words, covering the main aspects of the article and a synthesis of the most important applications and conclusions. Five key words should be included that characterize the subject of the article.

Data in English: The title, abstract and keywords of the article must also be in English, contiguous to its Spanish version in each case. If the article is in English in reverse.

Sending of manuscripts

As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify that their submission complies with all of the following. Authors who do not comply with these guidelines will be returned to authors.


The petition has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal (or an explanation provided in Comment to the editor).

The file sent is in OpenOffice format, Microsoft Word language Spanish.
