Abstract

GOMEZ RODRIGUEZ, Juan Manuel. An international approach to environmental and business rights and energy sustainability through the lenses of competition law. Relac. Int. [online]. 2023, vol.96, n.2, pp.105-129. ISSN 2215-4582.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15359/ri.96-2.5.

This article examines the principles of environmental law and its relationship with business rights, as well as the principles of regulation of energy law, particularly those related to economic efficiency and environmental sustainability. We consider both principles must be harmonized through competition law considering energy sustainability. Likewise, the collaboration among governments, companies, environmentalists, and consumer organizations is necessary to design a regulation articulating a new understanding of rights toward sustainable energy management.

Keywords : Business rights; competition law; energy law; economic efficiency; environmental law; energy sustainability.
