Abstract

RAMIREZ-MORERA, Marcela. Methodological Description to Analyze the Academic Success of Women with Disabilities from the Grounded Theory. Espiga [online]. 2022, vol.21, n.44, pp.202-227. ISSN 2215-454X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22458/re.v21i44.4526.

In the context of disability, it is necessary to explore research horizons that reflect on successful practices that contribute to the vindication of human rights, particularly those related to women in situations of disability. For this reason, this article explains how the grounded theory (GT), established by Strauss and Corbin, is used to understand the academic success of women with disabilities. It is conducted from a theoretical approach toward the main topics in this paradigm, followed by the characterization of the moments executed in the inquiry and the operationalization of the coding in the study. Among the most outstanding results are the methodological rigor required for the understanding of principles and characteristics of GT, as well as a theoretical understanding to comprehend the phenomenon studied and the objective of the construction of codes, groups, and categorizations.

Keywords : Coding; methodology; biographical narratives; theoretical saturation.
