Abstract

The consolidation of Belize was accompanied by political and social instability, which contributed to the slow progress towards independence. In the process, the politician George Cadle Price, who developed within the margins of a colonial context; it sought to generate changes from a national project. The events around Price's life are analyzed to make visible how they were linked to the development of modern politics in Belize; elements proposed by Bertux on the biographical approach are taken up. Current bibliography is reviewed, and the field diary made in 2011 by the author is taken up. Based on this, it delves into the positions that existed around Belizean politics and identity.
