The oral legends that were compiled for this research are part of the life experiences and the cultural transmission of our ancestors in the district of Cañas Dulces in Liberia, Guanacaste. Three generations of the Ramírez Alvarado family contributed to the narration of stories that have been part of the distinction of the region during the period of 1900 to 1997. Amongst the themes contemplated in the research are witchcraft and punishment for inappropriate behavior.
