Abstract

CONEJO BARBOZA, Luis. Intermetabolic and intrametabolic conflicts. A History of the Socio-Environmental Conflicts around the transnational companies in the South Pacific (1920-1990). InterSedes [online]. 2018, vol.19, n.40, pp.71-102. ISSN 2215-2458.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/isucr.v20i40.35656.

The present article arose grom a research sponsored by the Historical Research Center of Central America (CIHAC in Spanish) during 2012 as part of the regional history project. The research aims to explain the causes and processes which can allow to understand the origin of the socio-environmental conflicts of the Costa Rican Southern Pacific. Starting off from the typologies constructed from social metabolism, a deeper understanding of the relationship between the different agents who have interacted in this region, and how they have become conflictive, is sought.

Keywords : socio-environmental conflicts; intermetabolicconcflicts; intrametabolic conflicts; transnational companies; Costa Rican Southern Pacific.
