Abstract

This study contributes to strengthening the students residing attention at the University of Costa Rica Caribbean Headquarters. The psychosocial needs exploration were done with a mix qualitative research included: non-participant observation, focus groups and self-administered surveys; some of the results were processed using SPSS (17.0) and hermeneutics triangulation analysis. The population target ages are between 18 to 24 years. The questionnaires were filled by 38.4% of students and 80% of the Commission Residences (sample population). In conclusion, the psychosocial needs were partially satisfied, individual and group discontents were reflected in several aspects, also low student organization and hopelessness sense. Inclusion processes for the student population, protagonists of their own growth, are recommended for strengthen a comprehensive development.
