Abstract

-VALVERDE, Alicia Alfaro  and  RUIZ, Milagro Piñeiro-. Need to re-Supervised Teaching Practice as an evaluation process. InterSedes [online]. 2014, vol.15, n.32, pp.138-150. ISSN 2215-2458.

This article contains a serious reflection on the need of retaking to the Supervised teaching Practice as an evaluation process and not as the sum of different grades that are reflected in the rating scale. The intention of this work is to propose a change in the evaluating system of the Supervised Teaching Practice. Although measuring, adding, and grading are part of the evaluation, the educational processes that are developed with children and teenagers in Costa Rica should not be only observed with a magnifying lens; it is necessary to start thinking about the urgency of making an approach to the educational processes from an alternative manner, less instrumental.

With this article, the authors also aim to lead a discussion towards a more inclusive evaluation. It intends not to leave out any of the actors that take place in the classroom during the educational process; on the contrary it pretends to give a voice to all the involved ones.

Keywords : Supervised teaching practice; practicum teacher; supervisor teacher; grade; evaluation; English; and Social Studies.
