Abstract

CERDAS-GONZALEZ, Rosa Julia. Arts and occupations community workshops : a proposal for rescuing the artisan’s patrimony.  The case of Pococí town. Limón, Costa Rica. InterSedes [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.29, pp.105-117. ISSN 2215-2458.

This article presents a first section about the creation of the Arts and Occupations Community Workshops carried out at the University of Costa Rica (Universidad de Costa Rica in Spanish), Sede del Atlántico. It mainly deals with the experience developed in the Guápiles branch and its theoretical basis. A second part explains the different methodologies applied as well as their main results. So far the best methodologies have been the “participatory workshops” which have enabled us two document about the reality of the artisans’ labor in Pococí town; and the institutional coordination which has allowed some other academics to contribute to the project through the training provided for the group of artisans.

Keywords : community workshops; artisans; patrimony; tourism; training.
