The objective of this work was to identify the soft skills required by professionals who hold leadership positions. A total of 201 subjects participated in the study, from economic and social sciences professions, chosen by means of convenience sampling. Statistically significant differences are found between the Real and Ideal perception of the study participants with reference to all the exposed soft skills, being in all cases higher what is expected from the leadership than what is manifested from their perception.
