Abstract

ROMERO IZURIETA, Richard; GUIME CALERO, Julio Santiago  and  ESPINOZA ROCA, Leonardo Roberto. Analysis of the tariff restrictions in the ecuadorian automotive sector, 2010-2017. Rev. Nac. Adm. [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.1, e2675. ISSN 1659-4932.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22458/rna.v13i1.2675.

It is proposed to analyze the effects of tariff barriers on imports and commercialization of the automotive industry in Ecuador, through a bibliographic study, with a deductive and descriptive approach, comparing information from 2010 to 2017. The results were negative effects on the economy Such as drop in trade, drop in imports, rise in prices of imported products that affect the consumer, and it was not possible for the national industry to develop. It is concluded that this type of measures must be temporary, accompanied by incentives to the industry, and state policies must be implemented for the sector.

Keywords : SAFEGUARDS; AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY; IMPORT; ASSEMBLY.
