Abstract

CASTILLO-RETAMAL, Franklin; CORDERO-TAPIA, Fernanda  and  SOARES GOMES SCOPEL, Allana Joyce. Interdiscipline and education: orienteering as systemic proposal. Pensar en Movimiento [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.2, pp.163-185. ISSN 1659-4436.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/pensarmov.v17i2.36693.

The paper presents results of a literature search based on questions related to the possibility of including orienteering as relevant curricular component in school classrooms. A basic qualitative approach was adopted to generate new and useful knowledge without the need of an immediate practical application (Engel & Tolfo, 2009). The procedure followed was bibliographic research, which, according to Silva & Muszkat (2005), is the research prepared from published material. It is concluded that having activities in a natural environment is beneficial for the student’s overall education and that orienteering, is a sport that promotes developing skills and behaviors related to the holistic understanding of the human phenomenon from the integration of knowledge.

Keywords : interdisciplinary; curriculum; school; sport.
