Abstract

MORENO CANTANO, Antonio César. Masonic symbols and their representation in the world of video games: The case of Virtual Temple and Masonic Mystery. REHMLAC [online]. 2019, vol.10, n.2, pp.111-124. ISSN 1659-4223.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/rehmlac.v10i2.34416.

Freemasonry, like any philosophical or religious movement, is nourished by a series of symbols that define its characteristics and nature. In this article we analyse how these images are used in different media, particularly in the world of video games, a recreational and cultural industry that works with higher budgets than cinema and television. Through the online games Virtual Temple y Masonic Mystery, we will study what symbols are related to Freemasonry and its complex functioning.

Keywords : freemasonry; symbols; video games; leisure; messages.
