Abstract

PEREZ LARA, Jorge Enrique. Budgetary trends in the area of security in México, 2006-2010: ¿toward the militarization of the public expenditure?. Reflexiones [online]. 2014, vol.93, n.2, pp.130-142. ISSN 1659-2859.

In the present paper develops an analysis of budget trends that have taken the military and public security in Mexico, to determine if due to the war on drugs launched by President Felipe Calderon, federal budgets have tended to militarization. Likewise, a comparison is made between military agencies and institutions responsible for economic and social development, to determine if the military campaign due to weakened social spending to favor military spending.
