Abstract

This paper aims to present the results of a job evaluation research conducted to assess the implementation of the Proposed Educational Intervention for Gifted Students, launched by the Ministry of Public Education of Mexico, during the 2007-2008 school years. To evaluate this Proposal, we designed and implemented a model that is structured by four components, four criteria and thirteen descriptors. For recovery of data and its analysis methodology mixed court considered different times, actors and instruments are used; working here only the qualitative approach, emphasizing the application of the technique of focus groups and semi-structured interview. The study was conducted in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico and participated as significant informants: special education personnel subsystem state of Chihuahua, parents of gifted students, teachers of regular group, students identified as gifted and experts in the field of high ability. The results show that the proposed intervention has valued qualities related to its theoretical and methodological basis, however, the greatest weakness lies in the operation, something that may be subject to improvement for obtaining better results in the intervention.
