Abstract

The objective of this work was to determine the degree of satisfaction among a group of mothers that undertook a family education training programme called "Between mothers". The 150 women that participated in a communication workshop in the city of Zaragoza, Spain, formed in groups of 7 or 8 mothers y it was comprised in six sessions of two-hour each, between the years 2008 and 2013. The frecuency was of one session per week. In each session it was intended to wake the participants' curiosity by addressing issues regarding the life, showing respect to the rhythm of learning and the needs of each individual, promoting teamwork, and to promote all kind of forms of expressions. Data was collected by a questionnaire specifically designed for the study to collect their opinions; there were sections on worries, proposals for improvement and the results and effect of the training sessions. The data shows that the participants felt that they had improved their ability to assert themselves and developed their active listening skills. We found a high degree of satisfaction with the training programme and it was felt that the workshop had a positive influence on their family life in general. The training programme improved the participants' communication skills and allowed them to develop their roles as mothers and educators. Also, there was a high degree of satisfaction with the workshop.
