Abstract

This article describes an interagency and interdisciplinary work experience among the Costar Rican Social Security institution-Goicoechea Health Area 2; and the Social Work Service at the Distance Learning University through the Psychopedagogy chair. The work experience took place at the Goicoechea Health Area 2 in relation to basic literacy to grown women from Moravia and Goicoechea towns, in San José city. The process was carried out by means of socioeducational group methodology in order to facilitate female users basic literary knowledge useful for the daily activities; tools for their empowerment and an integral attention to their health. Based on the proposed objectives, the successful implementation of the project was accomplished. In addition, this project highlights social inequality situation that prevails in Costa Rica such as gender and socioeconomic categories, along with the possibility projects at an interagency level are designed for this target population.
