Abstract

MUNIZ, Luciene Aparecida; CAMPOS, Cezenário Gonçalves; ROMANO, Márcia Christina Caetano  and  BRAGA, Patrícia Pinto. Accidents at work: perception of the adolescent. Enfermería Actual de Costa Rica [online]. 2019, n.36, pp.77-91. ISSN 1409-4568.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/revenf.v0i36.33657.

The objective of this research was to analyze the experience of adolescent workers about work accidents. It is a qualitative study with educational intervention, carried out in a state school, with 19 adolescents who work, with ages between 14 and 18 years. For data collection, a questionnaire and an interview applied in two stages were used, before and after the intervention through conversation wheels. The data was analyzed based on the thematic content analysis of Bardin (2011), which allows identifying the experience of adolescents in accidents at work in terms of risk behavior and magical thinking; in addition, to demonstrate his perception in the subject from the experience in the conversation wheels. It is concluded that this work is important for adolescents, because it created the construction of a new knowledge about the risks of work accidents to which they may be exposed and thus, be able to make decisions about the care with their health.
