Stroke of the posterior cerebral circulation may have a benign course but basilar artery thrombosis usually have devastating consequences. Systemic thrombolysis and endovascular treatment are promising options with appropriate functional outcomes. We report two cases of basilar artery thrombosis in which early diagnosis and treatment with endovascular embolectomy and thrombolysis showed good results.
