Abstract

CARVAJAL VALDY, Gabriel; SILES VARELA, Marco Antonio  and  FERNANDEZ ACUNA, Jorge. Cardiac tamponade after percutaneous coronary intervention. Rev. costarric. cardiol [online]. 2013, vol.15, n.2, pp.31-34. ISSN 1409-4142.

Coronary perforation is a rare complication of percutaneous coronary intervention, but can trigger potentially lethal cardiac tamponade. This complication has been reported in 0,1 - 3,0 % of procedures. This report describes a case of hemopericardium and cardiac tamponade after percutaneous intervention in an warfarin anticoagulated patient with acute coronary syndrome without ST segment elevation. A rapid intervention ensured an excellent clinical evolution of the patient
