This is a result of efficiency and of the clinical status of many coronary artery patients who have concomitant cerebrovascular disease. This review, provides the interventional cardiologist with general information involving the carotid and cerebral artery circulations and correlates symptoms associated with cerebral ischemia according to the artery involved. Basic techniques for an optimal assessment of these vascular territories are discussed.
