Abstract

ROJAS ARAYA, Juan Diego  and  SOLANO CALDERON, Leslie. Contención mecánica y restricción de movimiento en pericias medicas y de ciencias forenses en privados de libertad. Med. leg. Costa Rica [online]. 2003, vol.20, n.2, pp.131-140. ISSN 2215-5287.

The inclusion of the comments of this manual has its base in the need that professionals in medicine and law acquire the knowledge concerning general check ups of the people who are in jail, because their integrity must be respected. For these effects, women have been checked by female personnel. When the detained person assumes an aggressive or hostile position with the evaluator, the first thing to do is use dialogue and persuasion. Force can be used when it is strictly necessary to carry out the diligence, using security instruments, such as the police stick, handcuffs, and others allowed by the Institution.

Keywords : Corporal revisions; women check up; female personal; polce stick; handcuffs.
