Abstract

MASSOTTO CHAVES, Horacio  and  WONG MC CLURE, Roy. Abdomen agudo y embarazo: placenta percreta. Acta méd. costarric [online]. 2001, vol.43, n.4, pp.178-181. ISSN 0001-6002.

Spontaneous uterine rupture, without a history of trauma or associated infection by placenta percreta is an extremely rare pathology and it's responsible for high maternal morbidity and mortality. The prenatal diagnosis of placenta precreta is important to avoid catastrophic results after the obstetrical disorder and different procedures are used to get to this goal. We present here a case of placenta percreta and a revision of cases with this diagnosis from 1994 to 1999 at the Monseñor Sanabria Hospital, and a review of the literature.

Keywords : Obstetric Hemorrhage; placenta percreta; pregnancy.
