Abstract

HERNANDEZ CASTRO, Gustavo. Development, underdevelopment, and emerging economies. Rev. Nac. Adm. [online]. 2023, vol.14, n.1, e4784. ISSN 1659-4932.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22458/rna.v14i1.4784.

Studying so-called emerging economies serves two purposes. Firstly, it enriches the Latin American philosophical thought by analyzing the outcomes of the capitalist system, the socialist system, and particularly the current stage of the global economy, within the context of what has been called unfinished modernity. Secondly, it encourages a critique that serves as a theoretical and practical tool to counteract the new hegemonic forms of the global economy, which impact human life in terms of cultural practices and the symbolic and material discourses appropriated by them, bringing the world to the brink of self-destruction.

Keywords : GLOBAL ECONOMY; MODERNITY; ETHICS FOR LIFE; UNEQUAL DEVELOPMENT.
