Since the end of the 1990s, with the emergence of Antoine Faivre’s theoretical proposal of Western Esotericism, a process of reevaluation of the study of this field began in Latin America, which was characterized by the unfolding of significant efforts that were channeled towards the analysis of the impact and influence of the esoteric in the region. This article has the aim of problematizing the production of Latin American esoteric studies on the basis of an assessment of what has been done up to date, in order to advance a series of theoretical-pathways that will enable the production of multi-disciplinary analysis and formulations that account for the Latin American context and will therefore be able to contribute to the institutionalization of these studies in the Latin American academic milieus.
