Septic arthritis is a serious condition that could compromise large joints and leads to systemic involvement. It is caused by a bacterial infection that develops as a result of hematogenous dissemination or direct inoculation. Below we present the natural history of the disease in a person without immunodeficiency condition, a 67-year-old man who, due to his history of prostatic hyperplasia, was a user of cystostomy, this instrumentation could be the route of infection entry and formation of the iliopsoas abscess which later due to contiguity it compromises the hip, leading to septic arthritis, this was classified as Newman B due to compromise of contiguous tissue.
