Basic Information

TRAMA Revista de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades (ISSN 1659-343X)

Focus and Scope

It is an international, electronic, academic journal produced by the School of Social Sciences at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica), based in Cartago, Costa Rica. The journal is published biannually: the first issue covers January–June, and the second covers July–December. It accepts articles written in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.

*Trama* is aimed at researchers, extension specialists, faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students, and the general public.

This is a free, "diamond" open-access journal. Consequently, interested authors may submit article proposals at no cost—covering everything from document processing, review, and receipt to eventual publication.

The journal’s thematic scope encompasses work in philosophy, the social sciences, the humanities, psychoanalysis, law, and related disciplines. Adopting an inter- and transdisciplinary approach, the scope also extends to articles that explore or generate knowledge through the intersection of these disciplines and fields of study with engineering and the natural sciences.

Peer Review Process

First, the submission will undergo a preliminary evaluation by members of the Scientific-Editorial Committee and the Editor-in-Chief, who will determine its suitability for publication.

Once it is confirmed that the submission meets the thematic and formal requirements outlined in these instructions, it will be sent to two external peer reviewers. They will decide—anonymously, under a "double-blind" process—whether the article should be published, requires revisions, or should be rejected.

In the event of a disagreement between the two reviewers, the article will be sent to a third reviewer to make the final decision. The outcome of the academic review will be final and not subject to appeal in any case.

Open Access Policy

Trama is a free, open-access journal that removes all reuse limitations on reference lists within articles and makes them available under the Creative Commons public domain dedication.
