The total duration of the evaluation process of the manuscripts, from receipt to acceptance, covers about 12 months, distributed as follows: a) the editorial review and peer review, takes six months and b) the final opinion, style corrections, layout and publication, takes another six months approximately. The articles submitted to RCE follow the following process: Editorial review * After receiving the manuscript, the editorial review begins, where it is assessed whether the document falls within one of the following categories: research articles and technical notes. * It is verified whether the document complies with the requirements established in the journal's standards and the clarity of the contribution to knowledge is evaluated, as well as the presentation and writing of the ideas. * The document is checked for signs of plagiarism using the Turnitin service. * In conjunction with the director, the works that are rejected ad portas and those that are sent for peer review are selected, according to rigorous formal and content criteria, with the expectation that there is an original contribution to the better understanding of the phenomenon being analyzed or to the improvement of the discipline relevant to said study. Double-blind peer review * The manuscript is reviewed by two or three evaluators external to the journal, who may be national or international peers. The peer review is double-blind, meaning that the identities of the reviewers and authors remain anonymous. * The evaluators are asked to submit the review within the following 15 calendar days, indicating one of the following options: 1. Approved, 2. Approved (if changes are incorporated), 3. Revise and resubmit, 4. Rejected. * If the evaluations indicate Approved (if the changes are incorporated), these are sent to the authors, who will have a period of no more than 30 days to send a response or a revised version of the manuscript; on the other hand, if any of the evaluations indicate Revise and resubmit, the final decision will be given by the director considering the option of rejecting the document with the possibility of sending it again. * In view of the respective evaluations, the director of the journal or the Editorial Board will decide whether to accept or reject the publication of the article in the Journal, communicating this decision to the authors.
