<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1659-13212018000200425&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1659-13212018000200425&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1659-13212018000200425&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  La Moringa spp. es considerada en países de América Central, como el árbol de la vida, por las propiedades nutricionales que posee, su plasticidad, y en muchos de ellos, se desarrollan estudios para aprovechar sus potencialidades forrajeras y nutritivas en función de la edad de la planta, para utilizarlas en la alimentación animal. El presente estudio se realizó con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de la frecuencia de corte sobre el rendimiento forrajero de Moringa oleifera, variedad criolla. El estudio se realizó durante enero y diciembre del 2012, en un suelo Fluvisol del Valle del Cauto en condiciones de riego y fertilización orgánica. Se utilizó un diseño en bloques al azar con cuatro réplicas, y se contemplaron las variables: altura de la planta, cantidad y grosor de brotes, número de hojas, relación hoja/tallo y los rendimientos de materia seca total (MS) y materia seca de las hojas, para explicar la respuesta al corte a los 45 y 60 días. Todas las variables analizadas fueron afectadas significativamente (p&#8804;0,05) por las frecuencias de corte establecidas. Los mayores (p&#8804;0,05) rendimientos de materia seca de hojas, tallos y total se obtuvieron en la frecuencia de 60 días con 7,3, 11,8 y 18,4 t MS/ha, respectivamente. La frecuencia de corte modificó el comportamiento productivo de las variedades en estudio.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  In some countries of Central America, Moringa spp is considered as the tree of life because of its nutritional properties and its plasticity. In some of them, research is held to take advantage of Moringa spp foraging and nutritional properties regarding plant age, to be used for animal feed. This study aims to evaluate the effect of cutoff frequency on forage yield of Moringa oleifera, cultivar Criolla. The study was carried out in January and December 2012, in a Fluvisol soil of Cauto Valley under irrigation conditions and organic fertilization. A randomized block design with four replications was used and the variables considered were, plant height, number and thickness of shoots, number of leaves, leaf/stem ratio, total dry matter yield (DM), and leaf dry matter to explain the response of cutting at 45 and 60 days. All the analyzed variables were significantly affected (p&#8804;0.05) by cutoff frequency. The highest (p&#8804;0,05) yield of leaf dry matter, stems, and total were obtained when cutting at 60 days with 7.3, 11.8, and 18.4 t MS/ha respectively. It is concluded that cutting frequency modified the productive behavior of cultivars under study.]]></p></abstract>
