El objetivo de este trabajo fue establecer un índice de calidad de suelo aditivo (ICSA) en arreglos agroforestales de café ( Coffea arabica L.). El estudio se llevó a cabo bajo dos esquemas de manejo intensivo y tradicional, en nueve fincas (32 lotes) en el sur de Colombia, durante el año 2013. Se realizó un análisis de separación de medias mediante la prueba de LSD Fisher (P&lt;0,05) a cada una de las variables físicas y químicas del suelo. Las variables que presentaron diferencias entre los esquemas fueron sometidas a análisis de componentes principales para seleccionar el conjunto mínimo de datos (CMD) de los componentes que explicaron la mayor variabilidad y se verificó redundancia entre los indicadores a partir de la correlación. El ICSA se obtuvo a partir de la sumatoria de los índices de calidad del suelo (ICS) de todos los indicadores, teniendo en cuenta que entre mayor sea el valor del ICSA mejor es la calidad del suelo del sistema en estudio. Las variables físicas seleccionadas fueron contenido de arena, arcilla; mientras que las variables químicas fueron: carbono orgánico (OC), P, Ca, Mg, bases totales (BT) y Ca/Mg. El mejor ICSA se obtuvo para el manejo tradicional, debido a que los valores de las variables seleccionadas coincidieron en mayor proporción con el objetivo de calidad identificado para la cuantificación del ICSA; en este caso el rendimiento del cultivo, basado en valores límites de producción del cultivo de café.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[AbstractSoil quality under two different management schemes in coffee plantations of southern Colombia. The aim of this work was to develop an additive soil quality index (ASQI) in agrofostery managements of coffee ( Coffea arabica L.). The study took place under two intense and traditional management schemes, in nine farms (32 lots) in the south of Colombia, during 2013. A separation of means analysis was held through the LSD Fisher test (P&lt;0,05) to each of the physical and chemical variables of the soil. The variables that showed differences between the schemes were submitted to a main components analysis to select the minimum data set (MDS) of the components that explained the most variability and the redundancy was verified within the indicators, based on the correlation. The ASQI was obtained from the total sum of soil quality index (SQI) of all the indicators, taking into account that the higher the score of the ASQI, the higher the quality of the soil within the study system. The selected physical variables were the content of sand and clay; while the chemical variables were: organic carbon (OC), P, CA, Mg, total bases (TB) and Ca/Mg. The best ASQI was obtained from traditional management, because the value of the selected variables matched in a bigger proportion with the quality objective identified for the ASQI quantification; in this case the crop yield, based on limit values for coffee plantations.]]></p></abstract>
