<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0379-39822017000100079&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0379-39822017000100079&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0379-39822017000100079&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen [14] En el año 2013, como parte de los objetivos del proyecto de investigación eBridge del Tecnológico de Costa Rica, se realizaron varias pruebas de carga (no destructivas) en el puente que se ubica sobre el río Purires, en la entrada a San Isidro de El Guarco, Cartago, en la Ruta Nacional 1 o carretera Interamericana Sur. Para ello se utilizó una red inalámbrica de sensores (RIDS). Dicho proyecto pretende proponer un modelo de confiabilidad para evaluar el rendimiento estructural de puentes y de esta manera proveer parámetros específicos que ayuden a estimar su vida útil y saber en qué momento intervenirlo de manera preventiva. [15] En este artículo se presentan los resultados obtenidos al realizar tres pruebas estáticas de carga, en las que se midieron variables críticas tales como como deformación, desplazamiento y deflexión. Se aplicaron técnicas estadísticas de bondad de ajuste para las deformaciones (strains) y, mediante pruebas de hipótesis, se determinó si los datos obtenidos en cada caso se ajustan adecuadamente o no a una distribución normal. Seguidamente, se utilizó la simulación Monte Carlo para obtener un índice de confiabilidad basado en la probabilidad de supervivencia y la probabilidad de falla para cada condición de carga estática. [16] Los resultados arrojaron datos importantes en cuanto a la probabilidad de falla (Probabilidad= 0.047) para un caso de carga estática, posteriormente al estudio realizado, en dicho puente se produjo una falla de impacto moderado en una de las vigas de soporte, constatando así la veracidad del estudio y la utilidad de las herramientas utilizadas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract [21] In 2013, as part of the e-bridge research project developed by the Institute of Technology of Costa Rica (TEC), a series of non-destructive loading tests were performed in a bridge located over the Purires River, San Isidro de El Guarco, Cartago using a Wireless Sensor Network (RIDS) to collect strain data. The research project intends, among other objectives, to develop a reliability model to assess the structural performance of bridges and providing key output variables to estimate reliability parameters such as failure probability, survival probability and reliability index. The latter information would be important to support a decision making system in terms of a bridge maintenance program. [22] In this paper, the results obtained using three static non-destructive loads over the Purires Bridge are discussed. Statistical techniques such as goodness of fit tests and Monte Carlo simulation were used to calculate critical structural and reliability indicators. Two of the static tests passed the international references in terms of reliability index; however, one of the statics loads (Case I) failed the analysis reporting a failure probability of 0.047 with a low reliability index of 1.667. It is worthwhile to mention that the same bridge suffered a moderate failure in a critical beam which would help to validate the methodologies and tools used in this project.]]></p></abstract>
