Este artículo centra su foco de atención en las percepciones que manifiestan adolescentes respecto al empleo de las redes sociales. Concretamente, su objetivo principal es determinar qué aspectos relacionados con las redes sociales preocupan a la juventud de la ciudad de A Coruña (España).  Metodología. El estudio se ha realizado con una metodología cuantitativa con un diseño no experimental del tipo ex post facto, se utilizó un cuestionario que respondieron 1144 adolescentes de 4.º ESO.  Resultados. Los resultados muestran que la adicción y el engaño son las cuestiones que suscitan mayor preocupación. Además, se han encontrado diferencias significativas entre las personas participantes: las mujeres conocen mejor los riesgos, y los hombres, con un perfil de rendimiento académico bajo, son más atrevidos y se sienten más condicionados en su estado de ánimo en función de las redes sociales que utilizan.  Conclusiones. Las personas menores sí conocen los peligros de las redes sociales, se muestran reticentes a exponer públicamente a sus familias y manifiestan percepciones diferentes sobre su propia imagen y la de sus amistades.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Aim. This article focuses on adolescents&#8217; perceptions regarding the use of social media. Specifically, it mainly aims to determine which aspects related to social media are of concern to adolescents from A Coruña (Spain).  Method.  The study was conducted using a quantitative methodology with a non-experimental design of the ex post facto type and a questionnaire that 1144 adolescents from 4th ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) answered.  Results.  The result shows that addiction and deception are the issues of greater concern. Furthermore, there are significant differences between the participants: women are more aware of the risks, and men, with a low academic performance profile, are more daring and feel more conditioned in their mood depending on the social media they use.  Conclusions. Young people do know the dangers of social media are reluctant to publicly expose their families, and express different perceptions about their own image and that of their friends.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo  Objetivo.  Este artigo concentra sua atenção nas percepções que os adolescentes manifestam sobre o uso das redes sociais. Especificamente, seu objetivo principal é determinar quais aspectos relacionados às redes sociais preocupam os adolescentes da Corunha (Espanha).  Metodologia.  O estudo foi realizado sob uma metodologia quantitativa com desenho não experimental do tipo ex post facto, utilizando um questionário a que responderam 1144 adolescentes do 4º ESO (o Ensino Secundário Obrigatório).  Resultados.  Os resultados mostram que o vício e o engano são as questões que mais preocupam. Além disso, foram encontradas diferenças significativas entre os participantes: as mulheres estão mais atentas aos riscos e os homens, com baixo perfil de desempenho acadêmico, são mais ousados e se sentem mais condicionados em seu humor dependendo das redes sociais que utilizam.  Conclusão.  Os jovens conhecem os perigos das redes sociais, relutam em expor publicamente suas famílias e expressam diferentes percepções sobre sua própria imagem e a de seus amigos.]]></p></abstract>
