Para ello, se ha impulsado la Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible (EDS) y la Educación STEAM (Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Arte y Matemáticas) como estrategias para enfrentar las problemáticas. Sin embargo, los nuevos enfoques de naturaleza interdisciplinar han recibido escasa o nula atención en los contextos rurales. Desde esta perspectiva, nuestro objetivo es describir la sistematización de una actividad STEAM para el desarrollo sostenible en un contexto rural multigrado, con estudiantes de 10 a 12 años. Para ello, se realiza una breve descripción conceptual de la educación STEAM, la EDS y su presencia en contextos rurales. Posteriormente, se describe el proceso de diseño de una actividad a partir de una unidad didáctica integrada (UDI), su implementación y algunas valoraciones de su impacto en la comunidad escolar. A partir del diseño e implementación de la UDI, que integra las fases de un ciclo de investigación estadística con la investigación científica, se concluye que: a) avanzar hacia una sociedad sostenible requiere una educación integral y equitativa, que permee todos los contextos escolares, incluyendo los rurales; b) el contexto rural ofrece una oportunidad única para desarrollar aprendizajes contextuales e interdisciplinares y, con ello, promover competencias de sostenibilidad; y c) las investigaciones estadísticas son un recurso óptimo para ampliar las contribuciones que involucren Educación STEAM y EDS en contextos rurales.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: In recent years, there has been a growing interest in responding to the social, environmental and economic crises of the contemporary world. To this end, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) Education have been promoted as strategies to face these problems. However, new approaches of an interdisciplinary nature have received little or no attention in rural contexts. From this perspective, our objective is to describe the systematization of a STEAM activity for sustainable development in a rural multigrade context, with students from 10 to 12 years old. For this purpose, a brief conceptual description of STEAM education, ESD and its presence in rural contexts is made. Subsequently, the process of designing an activity based on an integrated didactic unit (UDI), its implementation and some assessments of its impact on the school community are described. From the design and implementation of the ILU, which integrates the phases of a statistical research cycle with scientific research, it is concluded that: a) moving towards a sustainable society requires a comprehensive and equitable education that permeates all school contexts, including rural ones; b) the rural context offers a unique opportunity to develop contextual and interdisciplinary learning and, thus, promote sustainability competencies; and c) statistical research is an optimal resource to expand contributions involving STEAM education and ESD in rural contexts.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: Nos últimos anos, tem havido um interesse crescente em responder às crises sociais, ambientais e econômicas do mundo contemporâneo. Com esse objetivo, a Educação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (EDS) e a Educação STEAM (Ciência, Tecnologia, Engenharia, Arte e Matemática) foram promovidas como estra- tégias para abordar essas questões. No entanto, novas abordagens de natureza interdisciplinar têm recebido pouca ou nenhuma atenção em contextos rurais. A partir dessa perspectiva, nosso objetivo é descrever a sistematização de uma atividade STEAM para o desenvolvimento sustentável em um contexto rural de várias séries, com alunos de 10 a 12 anos de idade. Para isso, é feita uma breve descrição conceitual da educação STEAM, da EDS e de sua presença em contextos rurais. Em seguida, descrevemos o processo de elaboração de uma ativida- de com base em uma unidade de aprendizagem integrada (UI), sua implementação e algumas avaliações de seu impacto na comunidade escolar. A partir do projeto e da implementação da ILU, que integra as fases de um ciclo de pesquisa estatística com a pesquisa científica, concluise que: a) a mudança para uma sociedade sustentável exige uma educação abrangente e equitativa que permeie todos os contextos escolares, inclusive os rurais; b) o contexto rural oferece uma oportunidade única para desenvolver a aprendizagem contextual e interdisciplinar e, assim, promover habilidades de sustentabilidade; e c) a pesquisa estatística é um recurso ideal para expandir as contribuições que envolvem o STEAM e a EDS em contextos rurais.]]></p></abstract>
