Para lograrlos se revisaron las bases de datos Scielo, EBSCO, CONRICyT y Web of Science, el resultado se encontró en 18 artículos que cubrían los criterios de inclusión. Dentro de los hallazgos más importantes se halló un aumento en la producción científica del tema en los últimos años, además de un equilibrio entre los enfoques cuantitativos y cualitativos para estudiar la temática. En el aspecto teórico la mayoría de los trabajos utilizan la teoría de género. Se recomienda el desarrollo de investigaciones con población de diferentes contextos como de zonas rurales, que formen parte de grupos étnicos o que provengan de contextos socioeconómicos bajos, con la finalidad de comprender de manera profunda y así poder atender la problemática de la subrepresentación de la mujer en las ingenierías]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: The results are presented here of a systematic review that aims to identify the main characteristics of research on women studying engineering in Latin America, as well as the consensus that has been reached. To achieve this, the Scielo, EBSCO, CONRICyT and Web of Science databases were reviewed. The result was found in 18 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Among the most important findings, an increase in the scientific production of the subject was found in recent years, in addition to a balance between quantitative and qualitative approaches to study the matter. In the theoretical aspect, most of the works use gender theory. It is recommended to carry out research with populations from different contexts such as rural areas, who are part of ethnic groups or who come from low socioeconomic contexts, in order to understand more in depth and thus be able to address the problem of the under-representation of women in engineering]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: Apresentamos os resultados de uma revisão sistemática com o objetivo de identificar as principais características da pesquisa sobre as mulheres estudantes de engenharia na Ibero-América, assim como o consenso alcançado. Para conseguir isso, as bases de dados Scielo, EBSCO, CONRICyT e Web of Science foram revisadas, e o resultado foi encontrado em 18 artigos que preenchiam os critérios de inclusão. Entre as descobertas mais importantes estavam um aumento da produção científica sobre o tema nos últimos anos, assim como um equilíbrio entre as abordagens quantitativas e qualitativas para estudar este tema.
