Para la época, el pensamiento del filósofo neoplatónico Plotino (205-270) despertó un gran interés, pues logró articular en un lenguaje filosófico las experiencias espirituales y orientó espiritualmente a quienes no eran filósofos. Entre quienes asisten a su escuela, encontramos cristianos, pertenecientes a diferentessectasgnósticas. La relación con el gnosticismo pasa por diferentes etapas; en la primera, se nota una serie de convergencias, que disimulan bastante los desacuerdos. El autor de este artículo analiza desde el esquema ascensional o deAnábasispropuesto en laEnéadaI, 6, las convergencias con el gnosticismo, principalmente de tipo valentianiano, sethiano u ofita. Además de las convergencias lingüísticas, la correspondencia entre el Neoplatónico y los gnósticos es de contenido: el regreso del alma a la patria (=padre), la purificación, la mediación del Intelecto y ciertos atisbos sobre la patria.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The political, social and economic environment of the Roman Empire, during the second half of the 3rd century, can be considered bleak, especially between the years 249-274. The thought of the philosopher Neoplatonic Plotinus (205-270) aroused a great interest by that time, because it managed to articulate in a philosophical language the spiritual experiences. It also oriented spiritually those who were not philosophers. Among those who attend Plotinus school, we find Christians that belong to different Gnostic sects. The relationship with the Gnosticism goes through different stages. In the first stage, it shows a series of convergences, which cover disagreements. The author of this article analyses from the ascension or Anabasis schemata proposed in Ennead I, 6, the convergences with Gnosticism, mainly of Valentinian, Sethian or Ophitic types. In addition to the linguistic convergences, the correspondence between the Neoplatonic and the Gnostics is of content: The return of the soul to the Fatherland, the purification, the mediation of the intellect and certain glimpses on the homeland.]]></p></abstract>
