Se desarrollan dichos mapas para acero de baja aleación en Costa Rica en función de datos climáticos y de niveles de contaminantes, considerando las distintas normativas asociadas con ISO 9223:1992 y los modelados desarrollados por el Centro de Investigación en Corrosión (CICorr). La atmosfera en costa rica presenta altos índices de Brooks, considerándose muy corrosiva. Los parámetros atmosféricos controlantes son la humedad relativa (HR) y el Tiempo de Humectación (TDH) asociados a bajos niveles de contaminación y atmosferas de tipo rural. La velocidad de corrosión se encuentra entre 25 y 80µm*año-1 (Clase 3 y 4 según ISO 9223). Los modelados locales se asocian a los parámetros controlantes y resultan más adecuados para la estimación que el modelo según ISO 9223.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[AbstractThe Corrosion maps used are to display quickly the different situations in a country. These maps developed are for low alloy steel in Costa Rica depending on climatic data and pollutant levels, considering the different regulations associated with ISO 9223 and models developed by the Center for Research in Corrosion (CICorr). The atmosphere in Costa Rica has high rates of Brooks, considered very corrosive. The corrosion controlling atmospheric parameters are the relative humidity (RH) and Wetting Time (TWH) associated with low levels of pollution and rural type atmospheres. The corrosion rates are between 25 and 80&#956;m*yr-1 (Class 3 and 4 according to ISO 9223). Local models associated with the controlling parameters are more suitable for estimating the corrosion according to ISO 9223.]]></p></abstract>
