El presente documento es producto de un proyecto de extensión sobre la temática aquí abordada, ejecutado desde el Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica. Los resultados mostraron que el razonamiento lógico y la comprensión lectora son las habilidades más relevantes en estas prácticas, mientras que los problemas de inferencia y el vocabulario tienen una presencia menor, por su parte, las analogías no aparecen en los ítems analizados. El acuerdo entre dos jueces fue evaluado mediante el coeficiente de kappa de Cohen. Se evidenció un acuerdo perfecto en la clasificación de las tareas de analogía y comprensión lectora, moderado para problemas tanto de inferencia como de razonamiento lógico, y justo para vocabulario. En la discusión, se propone que los hallazgos de este trabajo son útiles en la generación de estrategias y materiales para el desarrollo del razonamiento verbal en estudiantes de Educación Diversificada de centros educativos con bajo perfil económico-social.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study analyzed the content of twenty items of the practices of the academic aptitude tests of the University of Costa Rica and the Costa Rican Institute of Technology to determine the presence of analogy tasks, inference problems, logical reasoning, vocabulary and reading comprehension. This document is the result of an extension project on the topic discussed herein, conducted at the Costa Rican Institute of Technology. The results revealed that logical reasoning and reading comprehension are the most relevant skills in these practices, while inference problems and vocabulary have a lower incidence, and analogies do not appear in the analyzed items. The agreement between the two judges was measured by Cohen&#8217;s kappa coefficient. A perfect agreement was demonstrated in the classification of analogy and reading comprehension tasks, moderate for inference and logical reasoning problems, and fair for vocabulary. It is proposed in the discussion that the findings of this work are useful in the formulation of strategies and materials for the development of verbal reasoning in students of Diversified Education in schools with a low social-economic profile.]]></p></abstract>
