Para ello se realizaron ensayos de campo en seis parcelas experimentales cultivadas con ajo, donde se determinó el inóculo inicial de cada parcela. Posteriormente se aplicaron dos tratamientos distintos, uno basado en una suspensión de esporas de T. asperellum a una concentración de 1,0X105 /ml. El otro fue el control químico tradicional usado por los productores, basado en una mezcla en partes iguales de oxicloruro de cobre (61,1%), Ftalamida- Carboxin-Captan (40%), Ziram (76%) y Tebuconazole (25%). Se evaluó la concentración de los esclerocios cada 30 días; además se registró la mortalidad total en cada tratamiento y parcela. Luego del análisis de datos, el hongo antagonista mostró una eficacia similar a la de los agroquímicos usados. Además, se confirmó la importancia que tiene la cuantificación del inóculo inicial sobre el desarrollo de la enfermedad y la mortalidad asociada.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In this paper, the effectiveness of the antagonist fungus Trichoderma asperellum, previously isolated and identified, was evaluated for control the causative agent of white rot of garlic and onion, Sclerotium cepivorum. For this, field trials were conducted in six experimental plots cultivated with garlic, where the initial inoculum of each plot was determined. Subsequently two different treatments were applied; one based on a spore suspension of T. asperellum with a concentration of 1,0X105spores/ ml. The other, was the traditional chemical control used by farmers, based on a mixture in equal parts of copper oxychloride (61.1%), Ftalamida- Carboxin- Captan (40%), Ziram (76%), and Tebuconazole (25%). Sclerotia concentration was evaluated every thirty days; also the total mortality in each treatment and plot was recorded. After data analysis the antagonist fungus has similar efficacy as the agrochemicals used. Besides the value of the determination of initial inoculums on the disease spread ant total mortality was confirmed.]]></p></abstract>
