<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0379-39822015000400003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0379-39822015000400003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0379-39822015000400003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[ResumenEl presente artículo se enfoca en la importancia de los sistemas de supervisión, control y adquisición de datos, conocidos como SCADA (por las siglas en inglés de Supervisory Control And Data Adquisition), como un aspecto fundamental de la automatización de los procesos de manufactura en la industria actual.Se destacan aspectos técnicos y funcionales de la implementación de sistemas SCADA, que le permiten al ser humano interactuar con los procesos en los diferentes tipos de industrias sin necesidad de asumir riesgos en la planta, ya que facilitan el control y toma de decisiones de manera remota desde una cabina de mando.Este tipo de software constituye un avance de gran impacto en la automatización industrial, ya que permite ilustrar gráficamente los procesos productivos en pantalla y crear alarmas y advertencias en tiempo real, para el manejo confiado y pleno del proceso que se desea controlar. Se presentan los ejemplos de dos industrias que han aplicado SCADA con el fin de mejorar sus procesos, obteniendo muy buenos resultados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[AbstractThis article focuses on the importance of monitoring systems, control and data acquisition, known as SCADA (for its acronym in English Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), as a key aspect in the automation of manufacturing processes in the industry today.Technical and functional aspects of the implementation of SCADA systems are reflected, which enable humans interact with the processes in different industries without taking risks on the ground, allowing the control and decision making remotely from a control room. These systems or software, represent a huge impact on advancing industrial automation because, let graphically illustrate the production process on the display, create alarms and warnings in real-time and fully committed to the process to be controlled handling.Is mentioned the example of two industries that have implemented SCADA software, in order to provide improvements to their processes, achieving great results with the same.]]></p></abstract>
