La corrosión tiene muchas repercusiones a nivel económico, de seguridad y de conservación de materiales, por lo que su estudio y mitigación es de suma importancia. En este documento se facilita información acerca de, (1) algunos tipos de corrosión que se pueden observar comúnmente, (2) algunos factores que influencia al proceso de corrosión y su velocidad, y (3) algunos tipos de métodos para el control de la corrosión y la protección de materiales ante este fenómeno.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[AbstractCorrosion phenomena means to the deterioration of metallic materials due to chemical and electrochemical reactions, because these materials are always trying to reach a state of lower energy potential. Corrosion has many implications in terms of economic issues, security concerns and preservation of materials, so its study and mitigation is highly important. Herein some information is provided about, (1) certain types of corrosion which can be commonly observed, (2) Some factors that influence the corrosion process and speed, and (3) certain types of methods for controlling of corrosion and protection of materials.]]></p></abstract>
