Para esto se evaluaron dos sistemas de producción: T1= Erytrina berteroanaasociada con Brachiaria brizanthaCV. Toledo CIAT 26110, y T2= Brachiaria brizanthaCV. Toledo CIAT 26110 como monocultivo. La investigación se realizó en una finca situada en la cuenca del río Peñas Blancas, sector de Los Ángeles, distrito San Isidro, cantón de San Ramón, provincia de Alajuela, Costa Rica. No se encontraron diferencias estadísticas (p&gt;0.05) en el suelo para los valores de pH (5.50 y 5.60 para T1 y T2, respectivamente), pero sí para el porcentaje de materia orgánica (1.70 y 1.20 para T1 y T2, respectivamente) y la cantidad de lombrices en el suelo (314 y 263 lombrices/m2, para T1 y T2, respectivamente). Con respecto a la producción de materia seca de Brachiaria brizantha,no se encontraron diferencias (p&gt;0.05) entre tratamientos, siendo la producción estadísticamente igual en cualquiera de los sistemas estudiados (un promedio de 33 t ha-1 año-1 en cortes cada 30 días). La producción de la biomasa de Erythrina berteroanafue de 2.724 kg MS ha-1 año-1 con cortes cada seis meses. Para el valor nutricional del componente forrajero de Brachiaria brizantha,no se encontraron diferencias significativas (p&gt;0.05) para cada uno de los sistemas evaluados (un promedio de 10,40% PC, 33% FAD, 56% FND.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[AbstractThis work was conducted in order to evaluate some chemical characteristics in the soil, the earthworm population density, production a nutritional value of forage produced where two systems were evaluated: T1= Erythrina berteroana associated with Brachiaria brizantha CV. Toledo CIAT 26110 and T2= Brachiaria brizanthaCV. Toledo CIAT 26110 as a monoculture. The research was developed in the farm located in Los Angeles, San Isidro district, Canton of San Ramon, Alajuela Province, Costa Rica. Under the conditions this work was developed, no differences were found in the soil for pH values (5.50 and 5.60 for T1, y T2, respectively), however, differences were found for the percentage of organic matter (1.70 and 1.20, for T1 y T2, respectively) and the number of worms in the soil (314 y 263 m2 worms, for T1 y T2 respectively). With respect to dry matter production of Brachiaria brizantha,no differences were found among treatments, being the production statistically similar in any of the systems studied (average 33 t ha-1 yr1 in cuts every 30 days).
