<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0256-70242019000200023&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0256-70242019000200023&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.sa.cr/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0256-70242019000200023&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  El 23 de abril de 2019 a las 21:07:22 hora de Costa Rica, las cámaras web del Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica de la Universidad Nacional (OVSICORI-UNA), ubicadas en la cima de los volcanes Turrialba y Poás captaron un resplandor en la atmósfera que correspondió al paso de un meteorito que cayó en el distrito de Aguas Zarcas, San Carlos. Esto también fue registrado en el arreglo de infrasonido localizado en el volcán Turrialba entre las 03:12:19 y 03:12:37, hora UTC (Local+06) i.e. con una duración de 18 segundos. A las 03:12:19, la señal presentó un azimut posterior de 302.4°N, velocidad aparente de 347,0 m/s y una presión de 0,13 Pascales (Pa), además mostró una mayor amplitud a las 03:12:23 horas con 0,23 Pa, azimut posterior de 302,3°N, velocidad aparente de 352 m/s. Los datos con alta correlación (&gt; 0,6) indican que el meteorito generó una onda infrasónica con velocidad aparente de 359 m/s, azimut posterior 302,4°N, una frecuencia media de 2,864±1,582 Hz y amplitud máxima de 0,23 Pa. Se considera que este fue un bólido pequeño con una energía estimada de 2.74 X 1010 Julios. El meteorito fue reportado visto desde localidades como Cartago, Turrialba, Puntarenas, Liberia, Escazú, Fraijanes, San Ramón, Venecia, Ciudad Quesada y Aguas Zarcas de San Carlos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract On April 23, 2019, at 21:07:22 (Costa Rica time), the cameras of the Vulcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica of the National University, located in the Poas and Turrialba volcanoes, captured a resplendence in the atmosphere. That luminosity corresponded to a meteorite that fell in the district of Agua Zarcas in San Carlos. This was also registered in the infrasound arrangement located in the Turrialba volcano between 03:12:19 and 03:12:37, UTC (local time+ 6hrs) with a duration of 18 seconds. At 03:12:19 the signal showed a backazimut of 302.4°N, apparent velocity of 347,0 m/s and a pressure of 0,13 Pascal (Pa), also showed a greater amplitude at 03:12:23 with 0,23 Pa, backazimut of 302,3°N and apparent velocity of 352 m/s. The data with high correlation (&gt; 0,6) indicated that this meteorite generated an infrasonic wave with an apparent velocity of 359 m/s, backazimut of 302,4°N, an average frequency of 2,864 ± 1,582 Hz and a maximum amplitude of 0.23 Pa. This meteorite was considerated small with an estimated energy of 2.74 X 1010 Joules. It was seen from towns such as Cartago, Turrialba, Puntarenas, Liberia, Escazu, Fraijanes, San Ramon, Venice, Ciudad Quesada and Aguas Zarcas de San Carlos.]]></p></abstract>
