Holacanthus passer, muñeca rey – Pez gris-azulado con una barra blanca humeral y cola amarillo brillante; juveniles de color anaranjado en la parte anterior del cuerpo, cabeza y cola; una barra blanca y 4 azules en la mitad posterior del cuerpo. (UCR 709-5, 12 cm CC, IC).

Pomacanthus zonipectus, angel negro – Adultos grandes de color gris, juveniles con la cabeza y mitad posterior del cuerpo gris; cabeza y región humeral cruzadas por dos barras negras y amarillas, juveniles de color negro con 6 barras curvas amarillo brillante, interespaciadas con barras angostas azules. (UCR 128-1, 5 cm; 623-3, 14 cm CC, IC).

Holacanthus passer, king angelfish – A blue-gray fish with a white humeral bar and bright yellow tail; juveniles orange forebody, head and tail; and with 1 white and 4 blue bars on posterior half of body.

Pomacanthus zonipectus, Cortez angelfish – Large adults gray; younger fish with head and posterior half of body gray head and humeral area crossed by 2 yellow and black bars; juveniles black with 6 curved bright yellow bars interspersed with thin blue bars.
