The objective of this article is to determine the profile of the French as a foreign language educator based on the transformations given the educational context due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19. To this end, a mixed descriptive study was carried out, in which the characteristics and properties of the French educator profile were specified. The study was carried out from the quantitative and qualitative approach, to interpret the reality in the current educational scenario in an integral way. Therefore, the study was based on documentary analysis, literature review and consultation with teachers linked to the field of teaching French as a foreign language, inside and outside the country, to determine the competences, skills and abilities required in a comprehensive, current profile and related to national and international demands. Among the main findings, it was found that teachers of this language had challenges in the technological and pedagogical areas; in addition, changes in the educational field demanded the mastery of technological tools and resources, as well as the ability to adapt the teaching and learning process to the virtual and distance format. It is concluded that the new teaching profile needs to be comprehensive and suitable for international as well as national standards.
