NIEVES ESPERICUETA, Marta et al. The COVID-19 Pandemic, its involvement with emotions, and learning barriers in higher education. Educación [online]. 2023, vol.47, n.2, pp.133-171. ISSN 2215-2644.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/revedu.v47i2.52014.

As the main objective, the article sought to analyze the factors that integrate aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, emotions and learning barriers during the educational modality established by the institutions from the perspective of higher education students. Regarding the methodology used, it was of a quantitative, cross-sectional, and descriptive nature. In addition, the researchers created an instrument to collect the responses. Likewise, the authors explored the psychometric properties of the survey through internal consistency with the Cronbach's alpha method, with which a coefficient for the entire scale of 0.93 was obtained in the variables that make up the three axes analyzed. For their part, 320 people surveyed using non-probability sampling for convenience made up the sample. Regarding the statistical analyzes processed, these corresponded to frequencies and percentages, comparative and integration with the exploratory factorial. In this way, the contribution of the study lies in the statistical tests through which it is concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic, during the educational modality established by the institutions, is a scenario to point out its connection with emotions and barriers learning in times of contingency. Likewise, it is highlighted that most of the student community presented emotional characteristics that, despite the difficulties that a health contingency brings with it, were assertive in managing emotions. However, another part of the student body was characterized by experiencing emotions that limit their emotional tranquility; in addition, knowledge about the pandemic was observed concerning aspects of how to act to avoid becoming infected, among others. In controversy with the above, the perspective of a smaller percentage of the sample was to seek the interpretation of the phenomenon from the level of magic and religion. It is highlighted that the characteristics of the family bosom impacted on emotional and school situations, in addition, opportunity factors are denoted for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the training of students to strengthen their digital and emotional skills.
