SEGURA CASTILLO, Mario Alberto-  e  QUIROS ACUNA, Maybel-. Universal Design for Learning: students self-assess themselves through learning and learn from self-assessment. Educación [online]. 2019, vol.43, n.1, pp.734-754.  Epub 01-Jun-2019. ISSN 2215-2644.  http://dx.doi.org/10.15517/revedu.v43i1.28449.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is based on the premise that all students are capable of learning when the diverse needs of the class are taken into account. A DUA perspective requires that educators build a flexible curriculum through pedagogical mediation to enhance learning for the entire student body. Therefore, learning assessments should be directly linked to pedagogy-based mediation where techniques and assessment tools are closely linked. This is achieved by teachers democratizing assessments through self-assessments, co-assessments and assessments among peers to promote a culture of assessment and stop thinking of it as an exclusive process of the teaching faculty.

Palavras-chave : Universal Design for Learning; Self-evaluation; Peer evaluation; Peer evaluation and feedback.
