According to 2011 census, the indigenous population in Venezuela is 724,592 people, which is equivalent to approximately 2.7% of the total population of the country. This article aims to analytically describe some important political, sociolinguistic aspects to revalue indigenous languages as a fundamental element of venezuelan culture.
